How To Add Protein Into Your Meal
22nd November 2017, Dietitian Marcus Lee, Mount Miriam Cancer Hospital
Cancer patients who are undergoing treatment, need more protein than healthy people.
However, eating protein alone is not a full and balanced meal. Protein food is good to serve with high calorie food in order to help cancer patients to maintain body weight and keep their energy level high.
Below is a way to increase the calorie content of your normal food i.e. rice:
2 cups of uncooked rice
1 -2 cloves of minced Garlic
2 tablespoons unsalted Butter
1 teaspoon Salt
Wash your rice in a rice cooker pot and throw in the minced garlic, unsalted butter, and salt.
Mix evenly and cook with the amount of water as indicated in your rice cooker or 1 to 3 cups of water to 1 cup of rice.
When the rice is cooked, use a large spoon and toss the freshly cooked rice around.
Serve with “Chinese Steamed Egg with Minced Chicken”.
